The idea is to unify the different areas with a simple but bold gesture. In this way, a striped pattern is used as a carpet for the whole area. It was preferred to a smaller diagonal patchwork as it would be too busy and too fragmented for the several functions to make a cohesive whole. The striped pattern is interrupted occasionally to host sitting spots and green areas. These areas are visually marked by erasing the pattern and keeping only light colored tiles. Light colored tiles were chosen to keep the area cooler during the hot summer periods.
The furniture of the proposal is constituted by soft wooden material, blond in color that constitutes and inviting and welcoming environment. The wooden sitting points are positioned in concrete elements, either freestanding on the plaza, or as part of the plantation barriers.
The stripped pattern is made using two different tiles from the MARAZZI company.
