First of all thank for the wonderful opportunity you gave. It was a nice experience in designing the modern building. And a very thoughtful exercise of space management.
I would like you to please focus the design layout and the interrelation of spaces being provided in this package.
The idea behind designing this commercial block was to make this building look timeless by making it as simple as it could be. A block that design wise blends in with the surrounding neighborhood from outside and is unique from inside. Being a commercial unit it should have some features that attracts people to visit. Other main consideration was to make the building cost effective by making very less walls internally and clubbing the services together, Making an extremely efficient layout to manage the available space. Dropping the idea of excavating to reduce the cost of construction and trying to convert all the disadvantages into advantages.
It’s a perfect rectangular block with sharp edges giving it a stable look. The exterior from back and either sides are exposed concrete walls to address the climate and to give it a very soothing look by the texture of the pure material itself. The front of the block is the glass facade giving it a very modern and attractive character.
With limitation in space a very efficient layout is being worked out here to use even a millimeter of space. Entrance is from the center dividing the space into 2 halves. A small waiting area on the left of Entrance giving the visitor a beautiful outside view. On the right side of the entrance is the main cabin of the Head who can have an eye in the Entire office as well as gets the view of Outside. There is an internal stairs on the right face leading to Living Unit from this cabin to Ensure Privacy.
Moving ahead this is central Lobby. On left of the lobby is the Secondary cabin and on the Right side is the other open working area with a books cabinet under stairs. On the left corner is a small powder room for office people.
A space efficient layout for a studio apartment. Entrance is from the stairs which is naturally lit from the full length window on the back wall. On the right of entrance is the toilet and on the left side is the wardrobe. Along the wall of the toilet is the kitchen with a sink, refrigerator, stove, chimney, cupboard and microwave with a fine layout for better working.
On the left side is the King Size bed .in the front of the bed is small seating and a television cabinet in front hosting a microwave from back side. The apartment is well lit from the front glass facade.
The coffee shop has two entrances: one from the front and other from the side. On either side of the front entrance is the seating and lounge area. The open patio with pergola above can also be used as outside seating since the kitchen counter is close to it. At the back is the main show kitchen counter. On the right is the Kitchen + Store. On the right most is a wash basin and a powder room kind of hidden. The high ceiling Height makes the space feels large enough. The white color walls inside make it more appealing.
The front and the side face of the cafe is glass facade with full length detachable curtain system. The customers sitting inside can get a pleasing view of outside. And a single person standing in the Show kitchen can monitor the whole lounge without moving.
