This design is based on an open concept kitchen with lots of storage space and a modern style. I kept clean lines throughout the major wall where I placed tall pantry cabinets and the larger appliances. By removing the cabinets on the east side, It allowed for a larger island (with the possibility to add a small sink for a small vegetable sink) that can be great for entertaining up to 6 people. Since the ceilings are high, I also created a soffit to keep the modern lines from the floor to the ceiling. Granite gray countertops reflect nicely against the crisp white cabinets. The tall cabinets have an area with frosted glass for display and back lighting. With this open concept, it even leaves room for a breakfast or small dining table towards the south side. On the right, there is a small bar that could service a dining space.
The two alternative options look at layouts that could work that are a little different than the one proposed. Option 2 shows more what the client had suggested of adding a wall and sliding/french doors to attach to the kitchen. The cabinets would be very similar with only a few tall pantry cabinets taken out. Option 3 keeps the existing layout except for taking out the island in the middle and adding a peninsula island on the edge.
