I'm looking for concepts to remodel a small home as a creative studio space. It's currently 2 bedroom home. The magic thing about this space is that is has amazing view out onto a horse paddock and beyond that wetlands. I'd like to maximise these views by having a balcony built out which makes you feel like you are outside. This would connect with large sliding glass doors which could then open right up along one side of the studio.
I'm a tall person so we'd raise/change the roof where the windows are (if the cost isn't too much). I'd also like to potentially even add a rooftop deck on top of the balcony - may be even add a room on an additional level.
Inside rather than seperate rooms I'm looking to knock down wall and open it right up so it's largely one space. It'll have 1 -3 people working generally.
Inside I'd like to still include a way to create a bedroom space when needed. Perhaps a movable wall makes sense. I'd also like to keep the kitchen, toilet and bathroom, but have them remodelled too. The majority of the time this space will be optimised for creative art and thinking. Consider the sleeping could move to the third level.
I was thinking mirrors could be utilised on the opposite walls to capture more of the view in a reflection.
Furniture wise the space should be optimised for standing desks but also have an areas to relax including a table to eat at. There should also be a wall for books.
Play is also an important element as my kids will often hang out in this space.
It's be a place which should encourage invention, creativity and craft.
Style wise as well I really like the Man Made Home (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kevin_McCloud%27s_Man_Made_Home) series on TV due to it fitting in with nature. I've also been thinking of using patents as office wall art - http://www.fastcodesign.com/3049340/these-beautifully-illustrated-posters-turn-iconic-patents-into-wall-art#9
At this stage I'm seeking concepts / ideas only hence the low budget. I'm seeking to find the right designer who I can then work with on the actual detailed plans.
I don't have existing plans but let me know what other photos / measurements you need and I can supply them.
