This Washington, DC row house was built in 1926. The master bedroom is a combination of two bedrooms. We would like to redesign this space with a sitting area, walk-in closet space, and invite you to use your creativity. The only request is that the design keep with era in which the home was built.
Bedroom 1 is 126 square feet.
Bedroom 2 (walk-in/sitting area) is 75 square feet
The current layout is inefficient and the current closet area covers a window. We want to open the window area back up and design a walk-in closet area with a sitting area. Ideally, it would be one open space between the two rooms. When we're done it will have hardwood floors, a king size bed, and a sitting area.
We want to achieve a master bedroom and walk-in closet area that is unique, efficient, classic, and could be on the cover of a magazine. Plenty of storage is a must.
A classic style with modern features (sitting area, walk-in closet, sleeping area) is what we're hoping to achieve. A hint of craftsman is okay, this home is post-victorian era though.
The style and layout are top priority, followed closely by cost.
We want to work with the designer on the floor plan and then intend to provide all documents necessary to a builder for constructing.
