We moved into a house last October and still need to develop an outdoor space in the back. We came up with a design for an upper deck and patio beneath, but then we started talking about adding a swimming pool. Our yard is big enough to accommodate a pool, but the challenge is maintaining as much yard space as possible because my son loves to play all kinds of ball. There is approximately a 12’ x 11’ space tucked between the family room bump out and sunroom. We had the builder build a roof over this space. We are looking for a complete plan for the backspace that incorporates a swimming pool (approx 16’ x 32’). The swimming pool is required to be fenced in. We do not need a lot of upper deck space, but the sun is an issue. The area is in the sun all day until late evening. Incorporating some sort of shade structure will be essential. In the 12’ x 11’ area right outside the sunroom door, we have furniture to make this an outdoor TV “room”. We still need room somewhere (can be upper of lower) for outdoors dining. We also like the idea of an area for an outdoor kitchen someday and/or an outdoor fireplace. Neither is essential. We are dealing with a blank slate and are very open to any ideas. FYI, there is currently no landscaping, so any plans for landscaping included will be appreciated. We have included blue prints of the house, a survey of the plot, and several pictures of the space. We will be happy to answer any questions or provide any other information you may need. We are new to this, so please let us know any of your needs. FYI, outside of the swimming pool, I am planning to do most of the work on this project.
